How Do You Optimize Your Popularity?

When it comes to popularity the internet is not fair. While the popular sites only get more popular (barring some huge scandal), others are left in the dark, begging for scraps.

You want to drive traffic to your website, especially in terms of your monthly organic visitors. However, this is easier said than done.

Improving your popularity entails improving your website and expanding its reach. You need to get more people to realize your website exists.

Increasing traffic is easy if you already have a decent userbase. If not, you need to work harder and spend more time, money, and energy.

The organic way to improve your popularity is through SEO and optimizing your website for the most searched keywords relevant to your niche.

Be active on social media and run ads on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more if applicable. You might also have to run Google Ads to get noticed.

You need to generate interest through relevant forums and groups. Create relevant content and spread it around.

Promote your website on social media and forums, but do so in a non-spammy way. You can also try an email campaign. Mix and match to see what works.

Being featured by someone important or standing out from the crowd will help in viral marketing and help spread the word of mouth.

Don’t take on a big competitor head-on. Instead, carve out a niche for yourself. You can market your USP to a specific group of interested people and grow your audience there.

Keep the user engaged on the page as long as possible.

If you increase interactive elements, chances are that the person will remain on the page for a longer period of time. Infographics, videos, images, and chatbots are some examples of add-ons that make the user have more staying power.

There are many ways other than SEO to attract people to your site and increase your popularity, be it from social media, search engine marketing, or mass emailing.

Ultimately, you have to be patient. Stick with what works and throw out what doesn’t, and keep improving to stay a step ahead of the competition.
